A church where you belong
Fellowship Baptist Church
Who we are
Fellowship Baptist Church is a Bible Believing Church located in South Beloit, IL. We are a group of average people that have been drawn together by Christ to worship and serve Him. In everything we do, we seek first to glorify our Savior, second to show our community the Love of Christ, and third we strive to please our Savior through our obedience to His Word. This is a tall order for us. We are still learning, struggling, and we even fail sometimes. There is one thing we know you will find at Fellowship, it is that we are just everyday people learning about God and growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Meet Pastor Jossund
I spent 10 years as an assistant Pastor and Christian School Principal at my home church in Superior, WI. I met my wife at a youth camp in Chetek, WI where we were youth counselors. We were married in 2005 and now have two children.
We traveled for 3 years in Evangelism, before moving here to South Beloit to pastor Fellowship Baptist Church. My wife's name is Kristina, and I thank God everyday for the wife and friend He has given me.
Come visit us soon and experience what God is doing at Fellowship!
About us
Fellowship Baptist Church is a Bible Believing, Conservative, Independent Baptist Church. We believe the Bible; and we do not correct it. We preach the Bible, and we do not apologize for it. We strive to practice the Bible's teachings, instead of marginalizing them. We share the Bible because It is the Source of Faith that brought each of us to the Savior, and It is our daily Guide throughout this life.
Our Beliefs:
We believe the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 to be the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God. We believe that the King James Version is God's Word preserved in the English language.
We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, and is the Son of God. We believe that Christ died for our sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. We believe that He arose from the grave on the third day. We believe that He only is the great High Priest, and we need not the intercession of any man, but that Christ ever lives to make intercession for us.
We believe that Christ will come again in the clouds to rapture the saved from the earth. Further, after the Tribulation He will again come to earth to establish His Millennial Kingdom.
We believe that all men are sinners, and are deserving of eternal condemnation in Hell, and that in order to be saved, the soul must be born again by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ keeps those who are truly born again. Once saved, always saved.
We believe that every truly born again soul should declare his faith by the act of baptism, and should unite with a Bible preaching church.
We believe the church is a called out assembly of baptized believers. It is a local, visible body, governed by the Scriptures, and answering only to Christ
We believe that all Christians are called to glorify God through a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices, and through a life of service to Christ.
We believe the primary objective of the church is to reach the lost with the Gospel, baptize them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and disciple them to fulfill Christ's commands.
Services
What we do
Sunday 10:00 AM Sunday School
Believing that Christ taught His disciples by example to take time aside to teach children the Gospel, we offer Sunday School for all ages.
Mark 10:13-16 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Sunday 11:00 AM Sunday Morning Worship Service
With a desire to honor and glorify Jesus Christ, we gather together to praise the Lord through song, worship Him by giving, and exalt Him in preaching.
Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Sunday 6:00 PM Sunday Evening Worship Service
Again we gather on Sunday to set aside this day as the Lord's Day. We remember the Resurrection weekly by setting aside the first day of the week to worship our Savior.
Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week,...
Wednesday 7:00 PM Wednesday Evening Bible Study & Prayer Meeting
We gather mid-week to recharge our batteries and resharpen our focus on the Lord through the study of the Scriptures. We also set aside time to bear each other's burdens before the Lord in prayer.
2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Thursday 7:30 PM Discipleship Class
After salvation and baptism, we are commanded by Christ to teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Discipleship is the heartbeat of Christianity.
2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
